Buy some of the most delicious Swiss Chocolates at best conditions! The journey continues to Rapperswil, well known for its medieval castle and on to the green and hilly region of Appenzell. In Stein you will visit the cheese factory where the famous Appenzeller cheese is made! Learn more about the cheese making and the ancient traditions of this typical region. Continuation to the picturesque village of Appenzell. During your time at leisure we suggest to enjoy a local speciality in one of the cozy Appenzeller Restaurants (optional). The pedestrian zone with its beautiful facades invites for a stroll and some shopping. Take the opportunity to visit the Museum of Appenzell (optional) and learn more about the traditions and the way of life in this part of Switzerland. You will be fascinated by its rich culture and interesting history. Before heading back to Zürich meet again your guide who will lead you to the square of the cantonal assembly, the "Landsgemeindeplatz", and explain you about the particular, political tradition which is still alive in the canton of Appenzell.
